Farmers Daughter coffee shop is located at 100 Conley Lane in Greensburg, Kentucky.
Shelby Wengerd grew up helping her father on their family farm. She never exactly knew what she wanted to do with her career. But after talking with her father, she decided that one of her passions was coffee, and before she knew it, “Farmers Daughter” was born.
“I would not have this business if it wasn’t for him,” Wengerd said. “I wanted him in it somehow, in the name, a tribute to him.”

She started off slowly in 2023 by getting a trailer and selling coffee. People became intrigued with the delicious taste of her coffee.
Wengerd traveled to different events selling her coffee around Campbellsville, with other specialty drinks, as well as baked goods. With her coffee business expanding, and working in the trailer for two years, she made the decision in May to open her own shop with the help of her employees.
“We either go big or go home,” Wengerd said.
“Farmers Daughter” is not just coffee, it’s also about Jesus. She relies on God to help her get through the difficult challenges of owning a growing business.
“I am a Christian, and something that has always been my goal in the community is to show Jesus through our daily interactions,” Wengerd said.
Her faith is key to having the determination and drive to keep going because the business can get overwhelming.
“The biggest thing for me has been exhaustion but something that overcompensates that is having help with other people and not doing this job all by myself,” Wengerd said.
First-time customer, Kylee Tait, said she not only enjoys the coffee, but also the aesthetics and feel of the coffee shop itself.
“It’s very homey,” Tait said. “I love all the house plants. I love the farmer aspect of it. You can tell that she had a dream and a vision with this and its come to life.”
Long-time customer, Mckayla Campbell, said she first heard of the trailer going around in Campbellsville as well as other parts of Kentucky. She’s been a loyal customer since the coffee shop opened.
“The environment that they created is very welcoming, very open, very expressive for community,” Campbell said.
A big reason why Campbell is a fan of the shop is not only the drinks and baked goods, but how they represent the Lord.
“I love the fact that one of the biggest aspects they have is about Jesus,” she said. “I love it. I think it’s a great way to get together and just have a wholesome conversation and remind everyone what this world is about and that we were all loved by Jesus and the Lord both.”
The coffee is not the only hit at the shop, but also their delicious food, such as scones and quiche.
“Everything I’ve had so far has been great,” Campbell said. “I really want to try their acai bowls. It’s awesome that they have so many options because you can change it up and get something new every single time and be surprised.”
