I finished my senior year at Campbellsville University in April. I was named to the Mid-South Conference All-Conference First Team. I was also named the team's Champion of Character, and received the Double A Award, which is given to a senior who excels in both athletics and academics.

Challenges of being a college senior
Alfonso Alvarez moved to Campbellsville in 2022 to become the head coach of the men’s volleyball team. “I was not sure that I wanted to work here,” he said. “I had a lot of questions. I wasn’t convinced I wanted to live in Kentucky, and I had a lot of doubts. But when I arrived on campus, the Lord gave me this peace that can only come from Him.”
